Westerly 62.2 Launch

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm    13th Dec 2017    Bar Orient, 39 High Street, Fremantle WA 6061

Westerly 62.2 Cover shopped

We’re pleased to announce the launch of Westerly 62.2, the largest issue ever published by Westerly, with sixty-five contributors from diverse cultures and locations. More than twenty countries are represented within the pieces included.
Building on Westerly’s historical interest in the nation’s position within the Asian and Indian Ocean region, this themed issue opens a fluid and dynamic space in which to nurture connections between seemingly disparate societies, to foster currents of exchange, to negotiate language and cultural positioning. The result is a vibrant collection—an anthology of creative transnational connection—and a further example of Western Australia’s openness to its neighbours: countries that connect through, across and within the Indian Ocean.

Westerly 62.2 will be launched by Caroline Wood, Director of Margaret River Press and the Centre for Stories, at 6pm on Wednesday 13 December at The Orient Hotel in Fremantle. Light refreshments provided.

We hope you can join us and raise a glass to the end of the year and the biggest issue of Westerly yet!
