Join us at Freo Library as we welcome West Australian novelist Holden Sheppard to discuss his latest book, King of Dirt.

Holden’s debut young adult novel, Invisible Boys, won multiple accolades including the 2019 Western Australian Premier’s Book Award and was adapted as a 2025 television series of the same name. King of Dirt is his third novel and his first aimed at adults. It’s a gritty and heartfelt gay coming-of-age story set in the world of FIFO workers and tradies in Western Australia.
